Editorial: War on Males Making Masculine Men an Endangered Species
The hardest thing to be in American culture today is not a gender confused female. The most difficult thing to be is a man, and more specifically, a conservative, Christian, heterosexual, God-fearing man. And God help you if you also happen to like using guns to kill furry little animals in the forest for fun and food. At that point, you’re a virtual pariah.
For accelerating decades, American boys, and men in general have been under continual cultural, psychological and environmental assault. From toxic xenoestrogens in the environment like polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB’s) which confuse body chemistry and contribute to androgenic chaos in the brain and body, to the culturally-caustic and malignant male self-hatred created by incessant messaging that masculinity is brutish, devolved, domineering, and inferior to femininity, manhood and masculinity are under a barrage of social and environmental suppression modules which are causing boys to question and suppress their own male characteristics and roles in favor of feminized emulation of their mothers and sisters.
Is it not predictable and utterly expected that this multilayered barrage of anti-male messaging will result in more males who are so uncomfortable in their masculinity that they choose a different expression? I know that even discussing this issue without fawning worship of transgender proclivities is socially unacceptable, but I don’t cower from such considerations.
Never have and never will.
Regardless of personhood or belief, I have compassion for people engaged in any form of identity struggle and the intense pain that they suffer. That includes millions of healthy young boys now beset by the confusion and self-loathing of manhood that culture effects upon them under the present model. Relegated to medicated manageability in their school years and pelted with a fusillade of anti-male social programming for the rest of their lives, those without strong examples of fathers willing to reject transformative social messaging are left to twist in the winds of confusion and debasement.
The unspeakable truth remains that society is desperately sick and sinful and is producing sick and twisted human beings suffering cognitive dissonance over their own genetic code and enforced fearful silence from those who would cry foul. The American right is not engaged in a war against women.
We are defending the very allowance of male masculinity as acceptable societal expression and being degraded, denuded and attacked because of that stand.
