Open Mic Confession: ABC News Buried Epstein Story for Years on Threat From Queen
Watch ABC News anchor, Amy Robach spill the goods about ABC News knowledge of Jeffrey Epstein’s despicable lifestyle, multiple claims by underage victims and expert testimony calling Epstein, “the most prolific pedophile in…history,” YEARS before his crimes became known.
And how ABC killed the Epstein story under threat by the Royal family, to maintain access to Royal weddings, interviews and the ridiculous fluff news devoured by an ignorant, sleepy American public.
Infuriated by her own network’s lack of willingness to dig the Epstein story to the roots, Robach is seen on an epic hot mic rant expressing frustration that such unspeakable evil involving the rich, powerful and connected could be left to secrecy on basis of protecting the Royal family in exchange for access and pop culture interviews.
“I’ve had this interview with Virginia Roberts .. we would not put it on the air,” Robach says on camera. “First of all, I was told ‘Who’s Jeffrey Epstein?’… Then the palace found out that we had her whole allegations about Prince Andrew and threatened us a million different ways.” She went on to say the network was afraid that running the story would prevent interviews with Kate Middleton and and Prince William. “It was unbelievable what we had. [Bill] Clinton—we had everything. I tried for three years to get it on to no avail and now it’s all coming out and it’s like these new revelations.”
As an Emmy-winning investigative journalist, I have seen these editorial decisions up close and ugly for more than 20 years. Cowardly news managers bent by loyalty to sponsors, friends, business interests and corrupt politicians who bury news coverage and prevent true investigative journalism to avoid damaging people they protect. Decisions predicated with no regard to the public trust and no care for the cultural consequence.
Of course, all of this is old hat to even late comers in the era when we finally elected a President willing to say the words fake news. Please, don’t pat yourselves on the back too hard. True investigative journalism in America died with JFK and was put to death permanently with 2012’s National Defense Authorization Act, which included provisions legalizing psychological warfare against the American public via repeal of the 1948 Smith-Mundt Anti-Propaganda Act which had specifically forbade the deployment of intelligence agency propaganda via our national news outlets.
Fake news is what you consumed happily for most of 60 years prior to Donald Trump.
