Illegal Alien Stalked and Killed Mollie Tibbetts to Hide Illegal Status
“It’s Mollie and Kate’s wall now,” one Trump supporter said. “We need to build it for them and all the other American victims of violent crime at the hands of people who shouldn’t even be here.”
Mollie Tibbetts should have been starting her junior year at the University of Iowa this week. Instead, her body was discovered in an Iowa cornfield and the man accused of killing her is an illegal alien police say stalked Tibbetts for weeks before murdering her to prevent being discovered and deported as an illegal.
24-year old Christian Rivera is charged with first degree murder in Tibbetts’ death after police say he admitted to stalking the college coed after noticing her jogging in a rural area outside her hometown of Brooklyn, Iowa. Investigators say Rivera revealed that he had approached Tibbetts on several occasions and killed the woman after she threatened to call police–a move he feared would reveal he was living in the United States illegally.
Tibbetts’ body was found in a cornfield, buried under cornstalks, a few miles from where her abandoned car was discovered more than a month ago. Police say Rivera led them to the location of the body and disclosed his motivations for the killing, including fears that he would be disclosed and deported and anger at being rejected sexually by Tibbetts. Rivera told police that he had previously noticed Tibbetts jogging in the area and was attracted to her.
The Tibbetts family reported the woman missing the following day when she didn’t show up for work. Her disappearance set off a massive investigation and weeks of fruitless searches.
While hundreds of people were interviewed, no suspects were publicly identified in Tibbetts’ disappearance until police discovered truck stop surveillance video showing Tibbetts jogging and Christian Rivera’s car parked nearby.
More than $385,000 was raised for a reward for Mollie’s safe return.
On social media, Tibbetts’ death at the hands of an illegal alien brought immediate comparisons to the 2015 death of Kate Steinle, a 32-year old San Francisco woman shot in the back by an illegal alien before slipping into a coma in her father’s arms on a pier overlooking the Pacific Ocean. She was declared dead two hours later at a San Francisco hospital, although subsequent reports attempted to distort the fact that she had essentially died in her father’s arms moments after the shooting and was braindead upon arrival at the hospital.
Steinle was shot by Jose Inez Zerate, who claimed a gun had fired accidentally while he was picking it up; he claimed he had found the gun moments before, wrapped in cloth beneath the bench on which he was sitting. On November 30, 2017, after five days of deliberations, a jury acquitted Zarate of all murder and manslaughter charges, but convicted him of being a felon in possession of a firearm
At a campaign rally in West Virginia, Tuesday night,Trump supporters renewed chants of ‘Build That Wall,’ likely spurred by details of the Tibbetts crime that were disclosed yesterday by police.
“It’s Mollie and Kate’s wall now,” one Trump supporter said. “We need to build it for them and all the other American victims of violent crime at the hands of people who shouldn’t even be here.”
