Blasey Ford GoFundMe Tops $500,000, Collects $350K After Senate Testimony
A GoFundMe account established in the name of Brett Kavanaugh sexual assault accuser, Christine Blasey-Ford has now topped half a million dollars and shows no signs of slowing down. Purportedly opened by someone unconnected to Blasey-Ford and her family, the fund has climbed more than $350,000 since her Thursday testimony before the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee where she leveled emotionally charged accusations that Brett Kavanaugh pinned her to a bed in upstairs bedroom at a drunken teenage party in the summer of 1982. As of Friday afternoon, five pages established in Blasey-Ford’s name had collected over $1,000,000.
Beyond allegations that Kavanaugh forced himself on top of her and made her fear that she was about to be killed accidentally, Blasey-Ford’s testimony was nearly devoid of detail. She claimed to be unable to recall how she arrived at the party, how she got home and where the party was at. Three material witnesses claimed by Blasey-Ford to have knowledge of the attack have issued sworn statements under penalty of felony perjury, to have no knowledge of a party matching the description offered by her.
One of her closest friends, also cited as an attendee of the party denies ever meeting Brett Kavanaugh, or attending a party of that description with Blasey-Ford. The lack of corroboration seems to be of no concern either to democrats or to donors who have now ensured that Blasey-Ford will profit mightily for her accusations against Brett Kavanaugh.
Kavanaugh’s nomination was approved by the Senate Judiciary Committee Friday on an 11-10 vote on strict partisan lines.
