Photo: Feinstein Bullies Murkowski Over Kavanaugh Vote
Apparently not all women deserve to be believed and respected. Especially if they don’t happen to believe uncorroborated testimony by accusers lofted 36 years after the alleged event and only after the accused is nominated to the U.S. Supreme Court.
A photo snapped Thursday during a recess from heated testimony and sexual assault allegations by Christine Blasey Ford against Brett Kavanaugh went viral after it appears to show California U.S. Senator Diane Feinstein cornering and bullying Alaska U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski over her upcoming vote.
The photo shows Feinstein standing within inches of Murkowski who is pinned against a wall, attempting to plead a reply as Feinstein glowers over her menacingly in an exchange some observers have suggested borders on false imprisonment. Body language reveals everything required to interpret context and motivation of the moment as Democrats desperately posture and position against a U.S. Supreme Court nominee who has stated open support for “separate but equal” interpretation of executive powers under the U.S. Constitution and would be likely to rule in favor of President Donald Trump in either a bureaucratic or legislative coup attempt.
Kavanaugh’s nomination passed through committee Friday on an 11-10 vote split perfectly along party lines.
