–As CDC sources told Shad Olson last week, President Donald Trump addresses the nation to declare a national emergency to deal with the Coronavirus pandemic. The President’s body language exhibits a man under the strain of an unforseen challenge, and perhaps a dose of cognitive dissonance, torn between telling the horrific truth of the viral outbreak and an ongoing desire to mitigate economic fallout of societal disruption and supply and demand dynamics of a global disease.

–In January, Shad Olson predicted that because of a shortage of test kits and a natural aversion against public stigmatization by the presence of COVID-19 in local facilities, community hospitals and health clinics would be very likely to misdiagnose the coronavirus as either pneumonia or influenza, even if the patient died as a result. CDC Director Robert Redfield admitted this week to the House Oversight Committee that an unknown number of Americans who seemingly died from influenza did in fact test positive for coronavirus in the posthumous diagnosis.
