Trump Sides With Navy Captain Fired From His Post for Interceding for His Sailors: History Lesson Shows Teddy Roosevelt Went to the Associated Press With the Plight of Malaria Stricken Soldiers in Cuba. Both Men Were and Are Right.

–Inexplicably, some Trump supporters are applauding the firing of Aircraft Carrier Teddy Roosevelt Captain Brett Crozier after he went around the chain of command to get evacuation orders for healthy members of his crew quarantined aboard the Teddy Roosevelt. Audio from the final sendoff of the captain shows the admiration and respect of a commanding officer willing to put his rank, career and legacy on the line for the safety and wellbeing of his men.

–So, if something is an optical problem for Donald Trump, we hate whistleblowers now? No thanks. Truth, please. Are Trumpers ready to round up Edward Snowden for violating chain of command in favor of the greater moral imperative? Intellectual honesty would be nice. Cohesive worldview, even better.

–History Lesson: Teddy Roosevelt’s Rough Rider days during the Spanish-American War found him taking EXACTLY the same actions as Captain Brett Crozier, writing a letter to his commanding officer and delivering a copy to the Associated Press, highlighting the plight of 4,230 American afflicted with malaria and Yellow Fever while stationed in Cuba. The letter worked and Roosevelt’s battalion was immediately redeployed to the United States where they recovered with proper medical care.
