Petrobras, the world’s 10th largest company by capitalization, is ripely positioned for stratospheric profit after an historic oil strike in the newly reassessed Tupi offshore drilling basin, a pre-salt petroleum find now estimated to contain 80-billion barrels of crude, making it the largest projected oil find anywhere in the Americas since 1974. Bigger than Permian or Eagle Ford. Bigger than the Bakken. 

Enter Soros, whose expanded corporate stake in Petrobras coincides perfectly (some might say peremptorily) not just with the monopolized oil discovery off the Brazilian coast, but with Democrat-Socialist strangulation of the U.S. shale oil industry under Joe Biden with punitive Trump-era policy reversals that have carved profitability and future capitalization from a previously thriving fracking sector, with simultaneous blips in both market share and profit margin for any global player left unfettered to explore and sell their oil to a rising market. OPEC. Russia. Soros. Petrobras. Tupi Basin.

The happy timing of a lockdown Biden bullseye for Soros Brazilian energy fortunes bears uncanny resemblance to a similar billionaire’s arrangement spanning two previous decades. An arrangement involving railroads and pipelines and Bakken shale crude denied transport, first temporarily by Barack Obama, now permanently by Joe Biden, via the halted, delayed and now canceled, Keystone XL pipeline. Oil left instead to jostle, settle, spark and spill on the ribbon rail of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad and to the record transport profits of majority shareholder and Obama mega-donor, Warren Buffet.
