Elizabeth Warren announces for President and drinks a “relatable moment” beer to celebrate in a cringe inducing video now burning up social media. 

Whoever is running Senator Elizabeth Warren’s public relations department these days needs a raise in pay. From her opponents. After the national embarrassment that was the “1024th” Native American DNA test result unveiling, it appears Warren handlers determined the logical next step was to drink beer on live video, holding the bottle like a high school freshman and looking more awkward than Barack Obama throwing a baseball.  Well done.

In the video, Warren shares a brief and stilted exchange with her husband before he leaves the room, encouraging Fauxcahontas to “Enjoy her beer.”  You know, because people who drink beer all the time always need to be told to be sure and enjoy it and stuff.

The moment drew immediate comparisons to another Democrat optical blunder from 1988 when Massachusetts Governor Michael Dukakis decided he needed to up his foreign policy and military tough guy quotient by riding in a tank to prove his readiness to be Commander in Chief, while wearing a tank commander’s helmet, looking for all the world like Rick Moranis in Spaceballs.

Republicans immediately seized on the video, turning the moment into a marketing blunder and the butt of joke that George H.W. Bush, Lee Atwater and company exploited to make Dukakis look stupid.
