CNN’s Jim Acosta, whose whiny demeanor and constant carping by now resemble a bad Saturday Night Live skit and make former ABC curmudgeon, Sam Donaldson look calm and jovial by comparison, practically begged White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders Thursday (8/2/18) to remove a label applied to the fake news media by President Donald Trump himself, who called the MSM, “enemies of the American people.”

In a long and at times pitifully pleading diatribe in which Acosta repeatedly interrupted Sanders, even when she was attempting to call on him for a question, Acosta laid out his attempt to cast the mainstream media as ‘victims’ of bullying by the administration.

“You read off a laundry list of your concerns about the press and then things that you feel were misreported but you did not say that the press is not the enemy of the people,” Acosta said.

“I think it would be a good thing if you were to state right here at this briefing that the press, the people who are gathered in this room right now, doing their jobs every day, asking questions of officials like the ones you brought forward earlier are not the enemy of the people. I think we deserve that.”

Sanders responded by listing a brief synopsis of incidental incitements to violence leveled at her, the President and other members of the administration by major networks, including CNN, including calls that ICE agents be denied entrance to their churches of worship, calls for Sanders herself to be choked, harassed, followed and harried, and CNN’s reinforcement and reiteration of troubling comments by California ultra-lib, Maxine Waters, who praised a South Carolina restaurant for denying service to Sanders and forcing her to leave and then called for repeats of similar inhospitable and disrespectful behavior against any member of the Trump administration in public.

In the exchange, Acosta justified his request that the “enemy of the American people,” label be repudiated by citing recent remarks by first daughter, Ivanka Trump who stated publicly that she did not believe the mainstream media are an enemy of the American people.
